Method of Preparation
Aval Unda
- Grind Aval to a fine powder.
- Take 1 cup (200g) of Aval powder, add ½ cup (100g) Double Horse Jaggery Powder, and 1 cup (200g) coconut scrapings.
- Mix thoroughly until soft and form into small balls.
- Garnish with raisins or cashew nuts before serving.
Aval Vilayichathu
- Boil 1 cup (200g) of Double Horse Jaggery with 1 cup (200ml) water to make jaggery syrup with one-thread consistency.
- In a Kadai, add ghee and roast chana dal and cashew nuts.
- Add the strained jaggery syrup, then mix in 1 cup (200g) Aval, ½ cup (100g) coconut scrapings, and cardamom powder.
- Stir well and serve once cooled.
Aval Muesli
- Mix Aval with chopped fruits (apple, banana, cherry, etc.), cashew nuts, and raisins.
- Add boiled milk and sugar to taste.
- Serve hot for a wholesome breakfast or snack.
